"What tile is best for me?"
The main question we get asked is “What’s the difference between ceramic and porcelain?” “Which tile is best for me?”
Answer: Due to a different manufacturing process a porcelain tile is denser and less porous than a ceramic tile. Which basically means a porcelain tile is much more suitable for outdoor use when an area is subject to low temperatures and excessive rain. In normal climates this has a big effect when selecting external tiles however with Queensland’s humid high temperatures and mild winters this is far less important. In fact a nice ceramic external tile will do the job just as well.
Due to this manufacturing process it is also possible to have a full body and polished porcelain tile which would not be available in ceramic. Giving a greater selection also.
"What’s the difference between glazed and full body?"
Answer: A glazed tile will have a ceramic or porcelain biscuit with is coated in a liquid glaze. This glaze can give a matt, satin, honed, lapato, gloss or external finish. A glaze provides an unlimited amount of colours and designs. With a full body tile the colour will extend throughout the whole tile meaning they do not show wear and are excellent for commercial or high foot traffic areas. Natural stone is also available in many forms and this will be a full body product.
With a selection covering internal and external walls and floors from basic indoor to external and pool areas we will have the solution for you.
